Finished Doctoral Degree on the organic chemistry at the Tokyo Institute of Technology. On the completion of PhD, he engaged post-doctorate in the University of Washington on molecular biology. April 2002, he was appointed as a research assistant professor of molecular biotechnology the Graduate School of Advanced Sciences of Matter, Hiroshima University. His current research revolves around the elucidation of the biosynthetic pathway of 17-membered macrocyclic antibiotic lankacidin and the other second metabolites on the linear plasmid pSLA2-L in Streptomyces rochei through a molecular biology.
